| THANK YOU FOR VOLUNTEERING TO PERFORM! The Program committee really appreciated Soul in Motion's willingness to do two performances at the festival. I was pleased to see so many festival participants get out on the dance floor and try the African Dance. They really caught on quickly and seemed to enjoy it very much!
Please tell the members of Soul in Motion how very much we enjoyed their performance and workshop and greatly appreciate the time they volunteered to do this festival. As you know it is a terrific fund raiser for youth programs in Takoma Park.
Thank YOU very much!

Thank you so much for SIMPINC’s performance at the Gala on Saturday – you added so much to the evening! You playing in the theatre before we started got the whole audience energized and happy and ready to receive the messages in the show, and many people are saying it was the best Gala we’ve had.

WOW! That is all I can say about your performance at the Band Aid
Ball Goes to Africa (March 2006). Everywhere I have gone
these past few days I have heard the most wonderful comments
about Soul In Motion Players. You all were absolutely outstanding!
SIMPINC really helped to transport all of us to Africa. One
person told me that if we had been any closer to Africa we
would have had to have a passport. Michael, you are such
a pleasure to work with. I just feel as if I have made a
friend. Thank you for helping us make the Band Aid Ball such
a success. I understand that you will be doing another event
for Jocelyn Bell. She was so excited about your group. Please
tell the rest of the group how much we all LOVED your performance.
You guys are tops!

I just wanted to thank you and the rest of the Soul In Motion
Players for your inspirational performance of Reflecting
Africa this past Thursday (February 2, 2006). We estimate
that over 200 students, faculty, and staff stopped by to
check out the show. Everyone in our office really enjoyed
the performance, and we have gotten rave reviews from the
evaluations we distributed to the crowd. The evaluations
indicated that people felt they learned something about
African culture, were inspired by Naima's poetry,
and were just really excited about the energy of your show.
One student went so far to say that he'd been to three four-year
universities, and that nothing he saw there compared to your
performance. I can't predict what kind of programming we
will bring to campus in the future, but I know that everyone
I've spoken to loved Reflecting Africa, so I hope that we
are able to work together again in the future.

Your performances just
get better and better, truly amazingly beautiful!! The
audience was just thrilled and happy, and what
a gift you and your players have (and art, talent, and EXTREEEEEEEEEME

people such joy must in turn make you very happy. Shelley Janashek

 Thunderous applause to the Soul
In Motion Group for once again helping to make the Jumoke Black
History Month Celebration a huge success. Your group was fabulous!
Everyone is still talking about how wonderful the event was
and your group helped to make it so. Several radio stations
(WKYS, WMJJ) also buzzed about the event naming your group today.
Once again, your participation and contribution to the Jumoke
Celebration helped to make the difference. Marcella Jones

I am writing to extend my thanks
to you for performing at Magical Montgomery - Montgomery County's
Festival of the Arts and Humanities. Your performance enabled
the public to see the wide variety of talent and entertainment
available in our County. I have heard many compliments about
your performance. Your talent contributed to creating a memorable
Festival and I thank you for your generosity in performing.
I hope that you will accept a small honorarium as our thanks
for your efforts. Magical Montgomery was so popular that we
intend to do it again next year. Almost 7,000 people attended.
I would also like to compliment you for your willingness to
go above and beyond the call of duty with this fair. Street
festival conditions are often difficult to work under, and I
appreciated your patience and goodwill. I hope that we can look
forward to seeing you perform again in the future. Thank you
again for your willingness to share your talent and for your
support of Magical Montgomery. On behalf of the Arts and Humanities
Council of Montgomery County, I would like to sincerely thank
you for all that you've done. Sincerely,
Theresa Cameron
Executive Director
Arts and
Humanities Council of Montgomery County On behalf of the Washington Hospital
Center, Management and Staff, I would like to thank you for
an outstanding performance for our Employee Diversity Celebration.
I sincerely appreciate your group's flexibility performing in
a tight deadline with a limited notice. People in our audience
were energized and touched by your outstanding performance.
I had several people come up to me after the performance and
say how much they enjoyed the excitement of the dancing and
drums - it was electrifying. The Washington Hospital Center
employees deal with very tense situations every hour of the
day and Soul In Motion's performance helped them to escape for
a little bit from the stress of a hospital environment. Thanks
so much for getting the audience involved and moving with your
performers. It was great to see a Security Supervisor, an Operating
Room Nurse, a Human Resources Staff Assistant and the Director
of Training dancing to your drums and having a wonderful time
performing with you all. Once again, I want to applaud the outstanding
performance of Soul In Motion and thank the group members who
time off of their daytime jobs for making this experience possible. Sincerely,

The Soul In Motion Players was a "hit" at the dinner! Last night
we took our dinner to the next level! What I saw was beyond
imagination! When you played those drums at the door of the
Riverside I knew I had made the right choice. It was awesome!
I couldn't stay in my seat! The music moved through my soul,
taking me back to the sounds of my ancestors. For that, I could
never pay you enough! The girls were electrifying! I saw them
move at the rhythm of a well skilled professional. Everybody
enjoyed their performance. Since your drums got everyone fired
up and ready to dance, they wanted to ensure that I ended the
ceremony "ON TIME" so they could get out there on the dance
floor and shake their "booties". (smile) You entertained us,
you educated us and you marveled us with your music and dance.
For that, I am FOREVER grateful. Take care my friend, it was
a pleasure working with you for the past several months. We
are already planning a meeting to discuss plans for next year.
So stand by...we'll be in touch soon. Thanks, God Bless and
Semper Fidelis! Respectfully Submitted MSgt

It was good to see you at the Kennedy Center
again today. Once again you and your group helped make the Dance
Theatre of Harlem performance a real memorable one. That throbbing
beat that is the backbone of 'Dougla' is what makes it so exciting.
I remember at the last performance you also did 'Troy ....(something
or other)' which was also memorable. I tried your home page
and was much impressed. You and your group have been doing well
and I'm glad for you. Robert Asman

On behalf of Chesterfield County
and the entire Black History Month Celebration Committee, thank
you over and over again for SIMPINC's outstanding performance
at the Arts, Entertainment & Education Festival on Sunday,
February 23, 1997. I have heard so many complimentary statements
about the Festival and that is due in part to the energetic performance
of your ensemble. "We Are Africa" was a wonderful conclusion to
the Festival's full slate of performances and activities. In addition,
"We Are Africa" was truly an educational, inspirational and entertaining
program deserving of a Tony Award. Please give your cast members
my sincerest thanks for making Chesterfield County's Arts, Entertainment
& Education Festival a huge success.

Hello there Soul In Motion PLayers.
I am a first-year student at Gettysburg College, and I attended
your performance of "We Are Africa" this past February 1997.
Although this was a few months ago, I was reminded of the
performance because I have chosen to write a reaction paper
about it for my acting class. I basically just wanted to
tell you that everyone in the production is truly gifted,
and appreciated for what your group is trying to do. Your
kind of enthusiastic education is exactly what is needed
at this small, non- diverse college. I was truly moved by
your performance - especially since I have been dancing for
most of my life. I want to especially tell the dancers that
their spirit radiated throughout the audience, I felt it.
I consider a dancer someone who can express emotion with
body movement. I also enjoyed the drumming a lot- it made
me want to get up and dance! Well, sorry if this message
has taken up too much of your time, I just wanted to let
you know that you are all an inspiration. Keep it up! -peace-
Dance my babies. Dance. No work
for you. No Fear. Laugh and shimmy. From your twirling feet to
the tickled fancy of the sweet trusting dreams you keep. No pain.
No grown-up rain. Know it not. Dance long. Dance Free. As you
should. As it should be.
